《我和我的祖国》选取七个年龄段少数民族人物作为时光剪影，通过《希望》、《青春》、《回家》、《重逢》、《情谊》、《技艺》、《传承》七个不同的主题，以小人物视角反映祖国70年的沧桑巨变。。南北朝时，陈国灭亡，隋国直入金陵，草莽英雄群起抗隋。隋军大元帅杨素派其堂侄杨越用高官奉禄引诱豫州叁虎之首—大虎敖天虎挑拨离间，致使两义弟决斗，叁虎韩铁虎误杀贰虎宇文飞虎。大虎随即派出肆大金刚壹路追杀已改名换姓的叁虎及其女儿董素素……贰虎之子宇文斌为报杀父之仇亦苦苦寻找，冤家路窄，与素素从偶。This is Alanis Obomsawin's most recent film documenting the Oka crisis (1990)in Quebec. Now a decade later Obomsawin takes the camera to the people of the Mohawk reserve of Kahnawake to recount their experiences and how its affected their lives.
